Abstract

• In September 2021 in Singkawang City has an inflation of 0.42 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.38.

• Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of eight expenditure groups. The expenditure groups that experienced an increase in the index from the highest were the food, beverage, and tobacco groups by 0.85 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.51 percent; transportation group by 0.44 percent; recreation, sports, and cultural groups and personal care and other services groups by 0.16 percent each; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.12 percent; health group by 0.02 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.01 percent. The three groups that experienced a decline in the index were the education group by 0.44 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.16 percent; and the group of equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance by 0.06 percent.

• The inflation rate for the calendar year up to September 2021 is 2.19 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 3.81 percent.

• Out of 90 cities in Indonesia, Singkawang City's inflation is ranked 3rd.
