Abstract

In June 2021, Singkawang City experienced inflation of 1.36 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.50. • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in indexes in nine expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in the index from the highest was the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.22 percent; recreation, sports and culture by 2.66 percent; provision of food and beverages/restaurants by 0.87 percent; transportation by 0.59 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance by 0.20 percent; clothing and footwear by 0.14 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.14 percent; personal care and other services by 0.14 percent; and information, communication and financial services by 0.02 percent. One expenditure group that tends not to experience changes in the index is the education group. One expenditure group that experienced a decrease in the index was the health group by 0.28 percent. • Calendar year inflation in June 2021 is 1.34 percent and year-on-year inflation (June 2021 to June 2020) in Singkawang City is 2.19 percent. • Out of 90 cities in Indonesia, Singkawang City's inflation is ranked 1st.
